Wonderful vintage Besson model 2-20 cornet. Highly collectible horn made by Boosey & Hawkes in England. Includes a high quality Benge 7C cornet mouthpiece, AP&M USA lyre-style music clasp, and a felt-lined hard shell case (trumpet case but holds the cornet). According to the serial number, the horn was made in 1968 at a time considered by many to be part of the “golden age” of brass horn manufacturing.
Features a combination gold lacquer and nickel plated finish, smooth edge finger buttons, adjustable third valve slide ring, streamlined bottom mount spit valves, and a distinctive Besson "50 Medals of Honour London Paris New York" and monogram etching on the bell. A great vintage horn for any serious player in concert band, jazz band, and orchestra.
Ready to go in good playable condition. Has some minor scuffs and dings and some lacquer loss on the bell. Plays well with a good tone and good action on the valves and slides. An excellent trumpet alternative with the classic mellow sound of a cornet and a great addition to anyone's horn collection.
